Jo Koy Newark Concert reviews
Fun experience and atmosphere
Took my brother and his girlfriend to see Jo Koy and we loved the atmosphere. It was easy getting in, the acts before Jo were great (Fluffy and a dance crew). My challenge comes from Jo’s artistic act. He was very light hearted yet he spent the majority of his time doing crowd work and talking about how much money he had. This was very off character for Jo compared to his Netflix specials where he is more down to earth with his stories. I’m for edgy comedy but Jo didn’t become famous for that style; it felt like a bait and switch. Where we’re the mother jokes? Few and far between; he spent a good hour one 3-4 front row patrons and it felt more like a speech rather than a set. I also didn’t appreciate how he started 40 minutes late and the final 30 minutes felt long because it was just Ko having the boys for men artist singing. I understand crowd work comedians but Jo didn’t tell any jokes.

2.Show started very late
3.His set was a departure from what made him famous and came off as more of an attack compared to a joke
4. He acted like he was better then everyone else and flaunted his money to patrons which came off as being mean spirited
